Dear God, Whose Name I know

This past week we have seen some improvement in my health. It is small steps with lots of hard, so hope is fragile, but a spark is there. Yesterday we were showered by so many evidences of God's love and care, I spent quite a bit of time crying with gratitude and disbelief. Found out about friends fasting for me, two surprise packages, a meal and being prayed over with the words/longings of our hearts-the ones we are often feeling too skiddish to keep asking for (hoped deferred makes the heart sick, and all that), a letter from a friend, a conversation that reminded me even now how much He has spared us.

For some reason then, last night, Jaret thought of and looked up a clip to a movie we haven't seen in probably 14 years. It probably won't strike anyone else like it did us, but we both wept as we watched it. He's shipwrecked and near death, and I think we feel inside about as bad as he looks, and yet when we see such clear evidence of God's love and care, we are humbled by how big...  Just thankful.
