Love the Lord your God...

School has been over for awhile now, though we still have math to do all summer, since i kept trying to find 'the perfect curriculum' this past year. we started totally over a couple of times because i didn't want to jump into the middle and miss something. (my perfectionism pops up at such annoying times.)

life hasn't slowed down much yet, with vbs this week and next, and plans every night and weekend, but it's stuff that feels like less pressure and frustration, so i'm really enjoying that. faye is slowly working her way onto solids, and it's wonderful to feel like she's starting to eat like a normal child.

i have plenty i could post about, and some new pictures, but it's late, so i'll save that for another time. for now i'm going to share something that came to me a couple weeks back.

i know i've illuded to the fact that several years ago i went through a very uncertain time in my faith and how since then i sometimes struggle with feeling like i can't pinpoint what underlying principle that my life is to spring from. a couple weeks back i either heard or read the verses, "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. this is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself". it struck me as such a clear, uncomplicated foundation for life. and, as the verses continues, it truly does sum up the law and the prophets. it can guide in every step of life.

i'm really thankful for the clarity that this can bring. now to remember and practice it.

Great to see you back Shar! I was about to comment on your last post and remind you that your time had come to blog again.... I have rather missed it! :)

I really like those verses, too. Funny how simple they are and yet I still struggle to apply them.....

Well, love you goodles! Have a super weekend.

Those are great verses, since the Lord said that "all the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:40)
Like Christen says, it sounds simple, but involves a lot! They are a good challenge for me.

love you!
